Montgomery Township Volunteer Fire Company Number 2 has been the primary fire protection source for the residents of the southern portion of Montgomery township since its establishment in 1946. We are Somerset County Fire Station 46. Station 46 covers a little over 16 square miles of Montgomery, including heavy commercial areas and rural farmland. The volunteers at Station 46 carry out a large array of tasks from fire suppression to vehicle extrication to light technical rescue.
We operate 1 Tower Ladder (Tower 46), 2 Engines (Engine 467 and 468), 1 Medium Duty Rescue (Rescue 46), 1 Brush truck (Brush 46) , 1 Utility (Utility 46) and 2 Command Cars (Car 46 and Car 46-2) out of 1 station (Station 46) located on Rt. 518.
